THE TANGO FAMILY RHYTHMS: TANGO, MILONGA AND VALS
These are the three rhythms that make up the tango family and the ones that are dance at the milongas. Along time students need to be able to recognize these musical genres and associate and execute specific moves relate to them.
Tango is a musical genre marked by nostalgia, expressed through melodic instruments including the bandoneón. Our classes look to prepare dancers to comfortably dance tango salon from a solid technical base, musical interpretation and floorcraft dancing.
Milonga dance incorporates the same basic elements as Tango but permits a greater relaxation of legs and body. Movement is normally faster, and pauses are less common. It is usually a kind of rhythmic walking without complicated figures, with a more humorous and rustic style in constrat with the serious and dramatic tango. Our classes aim is to teach students to understand the upbeat and spicy milonga rhythym and learn to execute milonga specific movements.
Sophisticate, elegant and romantic, the vals (waltz) has specific musical and technical aspects, and sequence of moves to learn. Our classes aim to teach these aspects and moves allowing the students to dance at ease in a minimum amount of time.
